  17. <p>    They may look a bit grumpy, but at least the Waleses are
  18. traveling together again. Though Charles and Diana chose not to
  19. come to the U.S. as a pair, last week they made a joint
  20. appearance in Kuwait, just 30 miles from Iran, which recently
  21. broke off ties with Britain over the Salman Rushdie affair.
  22. Security was so tight that the only thing breached was protocol.
  23. While talking to Crown Prince Sheik Saad, Diana, who wore
  24. unrevealing clothes in deference to local mores, suddenly
  25. crossed her legs -- a big no-no in Arab circles, where a glimpse
  26. of stocking is still considered shocking. The crown prince
  27. diplomatically turned the other way. The Kuwaitis, though, gave
  28. Diana a few fashion tips. They presented her with a gold
  29. sequined Bedouin robe. Charles, in turn, received a traditional
  30. woolen desert robe. The couple traveled on to Bahrain, Abu Dhabi
  31. and Dubai, where security reasons prompted the prince to cancel
  32. a polo match. Charles then flew alone to Saudi Arabia.
